Spending To Keep Up with Influencers

A trap that you can easily fall into. Trying to emulate an influencer with everything they are wearing.

Be very careful with this, as they are usually gifted or borrow the outfits for their photo shoots on Instagram or the companies hire them for the photo shoots.

I did go through a spending big on clothes stage but thankfully I stopped and realised that having a wardrobe full of good staple pieces and then having a few on trend items was the key. Your classic items will stand the test of time and you’ll be able to wear them much more. Let you in on a little secret, as a stylist I don’t have a bulging wardrobe of clothes.

Also if you are buying high end designer clothes but only wearing them a handful of times. Think about selling the items to a reputable second hand seller. That way the items aren’t just sitting in your wardrobe and you are passing them on before they date.

Not here to tell you how to spend your money but speaking from experience, I can honestly say. Having your own style is the best way you can be true to yourself. A little bit of inspiration from Pinterest is a good way to help put outfits together, but with your own spin on it.
