What’s Old, Is New Again

Fashion that was worn at one period of time will come back into fashion again. It gets revamped and adjusted to suit modern times, but the fundamentals are the same.

We can see it with the new Spring season of clothes coming into stores. Paisley prints, flared pants, bright colours like purple, orange and chocolate brown, which are 70’s inspired.

High waisted jeans were popular in the 1940’s and 1970’s and now we are seeing them as a strong contender in the jean/pants market.

You only have to walk into Ghanda and feel like you have been transported back to the late 70’s and all you need is a Kombi Van. As my friend called it a very ‘boho style store’.

I was asked once, what era inspired me or if I could go back in time what era would I choose. It would have to be the 1950’s for me. I love the fitted waist dresses with halter necks, pencil skirts and pants. Also the capri pants with tucked in tops.

Do you have a favourite style era that you love or is there a style icon that influences you? Why not share in the comments below.
