Are you in a Style Rut?
Do you every feel like you are stuck in a style rut wearing the same outfits on repeat?
Here are a few tips to help you out.
STEP 1: FIRST YOU NEED TO ADMIT THAT YOU ARE IN A STYLE RUT AND THAT YOU ARE READY TO CHANGE.
I’d like you to write down what you wear on repeat, and what you would rather wear. Take 15 minutes to look at your wardrobe - what is going on in there? Write this down. ie; too many clothes, you can’t see what you have. Clothes from a job you no longer need.
STEP 2: CREATE A PINTEREST BOARD OF YOUR FAVOURITE NEW OUTFITS OR SAVE IMAGES THAT YOU MAY SEE ON INSTAGRAM (YES I KNOW YOU SPEND A LITTLE TIME ON INSTAGRAM 🤣)
To create change, you need to be able to see what change looks like, whether it be a look you would like to try, or from just adding more colourful accessorcies to your wardrobe, or actually changing your whole style to suit your new lifestyle.
STEP 3: WRITE UP A SHOPPING LIST & THEN RESEARCH ONLINE THE ITEMS THAT ARE ON YOUR LIST.
This will enable you to research on your budget, no point in typing in a blue midi dress and it costs $700 at a local strore, when your budget is only $200. This is a good way to also update your basics in your wardrobe. Either it be t-shirts, jeans, or skirts. Don’t just stick to the stores that you always shop at, you’ll be surprised what you can find at other stores, that your possibly thought were not for you.
STEP 4: HEAD TO THE SHOPS TO TRY ON THE ITEMS & PURCHASE THE ONES THAT TICK ALL THE BOXES.
Take the time to shop, don’t be in a hurry. Look at the images that you have saved, so you don’t get distracted and buy things that you already have in your wardrobe. We tend to gravitate to the same items unconsciously. Make sure it fits you well and you love how you look in it. You will know if it suits you, trust in your own abilities.
BUT - if this is all too much for you. You are ready for the change but you don’t know where to start. I’m only a message away. Whether it be for some advice, Wardrobe Refresh or Personal Shopping Session.
Leave a comment below, on what actions you will take this year in regards to your style, wardrobe or shopping habits.
